Manisha Koirala Details

Manisha Koirala was born and brought up in Kathmandu, Nepal. She was born on 16 August 1970. She was born in a politically prominent Koirala family in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her father’s name is Prakash Koirala who is a Politician and former minister of environment. Her mother’s name is Sushma Koirala who is a Homemaker. His brother Siddharth Koirala is also an Actor. Manisha was raised in India during her early life.

She made her debut through the “Pheri Bhetaula” (1989). Her second movie was a debut in Hindi and was directed by Subhash Ghai. The movie was named “Saudagar” and was released in the year 1991. Her first Tamil movie was “Bombay” was released in the 1995 and it was directed by Mani Ratnam for which she won Filmfare award for best actress awards. From being a lead actress, She is now acting as a supporting actress and continues to show her acting skills to the outer world.

She got married to a Nepal businessman Samrat Dahal on 19 June 2010. But the couple got divorced in 2012. Later she felt ill and got diagnosed with cancer. After undergoing several treatments and operations, Manisha Koirala is now cancer free for four years. After fighting cancer, Manisha is now encouraging the world to fight against cancer. She is actively involved in social works.
