Legendary Actor Sivaji Ganesan’s Birthday Declared as Government Ceremony

At today’s assembly, Cheif Minister, Edappadi Palaniswami has announced that the Tamil Nadu Government will hold celebrations on every October 1 to honour the birth anniversary of Tamil Cinema’s Legendary actor, Sivaji Ganesan (aka) Villupuram Chinnaiah Ganesan. He also said Ramasami Padayatchiyar‘s birth anniversary on September 16 will also be celebrated.

Reacting to the announcement, Sivaji Ganesan’s son and veteran actor Prabhu said, “Though the announcement has come late, I am happy and proud that the Tamilnadu Government has finally come forward and honoured my father.” General secretary of Nadigar Sangam, Vishal has also thanked the government. Legendary Actor Sivaji Ganesan was born on October 1, 1928, and has acted in close to 300 movies in a career which spanned over 5 decades.
