Kushboo is an Indian film actress, producer and television presenter who predominantly appears in Tamil films. She also acted in some Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi films. She has acted in more than 200 movies. She was made her screen debut as a child artist in the Hindi film The Burning Train (1980) and Kannada film Raja Nanna Raja (1976). She has received five Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for Best Actress and one Kerala State Film Award – Special Mention. Kushboo Details

Kushboo was born on 29 September 1970 in Andheri, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her birth name is Nakhat Khan. She has three brothers named Abdhuallh, Abu Bakker and Ali. Her brother Abdullah is also an actor. She did her schooling at Swami Muktananda High School, Andheri. She entered films as a child artist with Kannada film Raja Nanna Raja in 1976. She later worked in numerous films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi films as a child artist.

Since then she worked for numerous blockbuster hits like Varusham Padhinaaru, Vetri Vizha co-starring Kamal Haasan, Prabhu and Amala, Kizhakku Vasal alongside Karthik and Revathy, Nadigan, Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Chinna Thambi, Bramma, Minsara Kanna among other films. In her decades-long career, she worked with superstars like Kamal Hassan, Vishnuvardhan, Rajnikanth, Vijay Venkatesh, Mohanlal, Ravichandran, Nagarjuna, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi and others. Apart from acting she also worked as a film producer and Television host. With her experience in south Indian films, she is able to several regional languages like Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi.

During her peak in Tamil cinema, she became the first ever Indian actress for whom her fans built a dedicated temple. Also, many dishes on menus in South India were named after Khushbu. Khushbu Idli was the most iconic, and a famous food item that was dedicated to her name. Apart from acting, she is the joint Honorary Members of Richmond Football Club, based in Melbourne, Australia.

Kushboo in Politics

Khushbu Sundar joined the Indian National Congress on 26 November 2014 after meeting with then Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandhi, and then Vice-President Mr Rahul Gandhi. She is currently the National Spokesperson of the party. She was welcomed by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Leader Karunanidhi at the party headquarters in Chennai and she joined the party on 14 May 2010. And she came out of the party on 16 June 2014.

Kushboo Personal Life

Khushbu is married to Indian film actor, director, and producer Sundar C. They have two daughters, Avanthika and Ananditha. The couple started the production house with the name Avni Cinemax. She has been living in Chennai for more than 33 years now. Initially, Kushboo had a live-in relationship with actor Prabhu for four-and-a-half years and got married on 12 September 1993. But, they subsequently decided to separate four months later.
