Kollam Ajith is an Indian film actor, who predominantly worked in Malayalam film industry. He has acted in villain roles in several Malayalam films and has appeared in over a 500 films in different languages including Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu. Kollam Ajith Profile and Career

Kollam Ajith was born and brought up in Kollam in the state of Kerala, India. He was born to Haridas and Devaki. He has five siblings include three brothers Ramesh, Hari, Surendran and two sisters named Rema and Sujatha. Ajith did his primary education from Government school, Thevalakkara, Kollam and graduated with bachelors of Arts from Sree Narayanan college, Kollam.

After graduation, he began his career in the film industry and approached the director Padmarajan to become an Assistant director but seeing his talent, Padmarajan cast him in his movie Parannu Parannu Parannu and thus making his silver screen debut in 1984. After that, he turn to be a permanent actor of all films of Padmarajan. In 2016, he decided to venture into direction, writing and helming the Malayalam movie Calling Bell.

Some of his notable films are Yuvajanotsavam, Nadodikkattu, No.20 Madras Mail, Olympiyan Anthony Adam, Nirnayam, Aaraam Thampuran, and Valliettan among others. Besides his work in the Malayalam film industry, the actor also starred in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. He was married to Prameela, and the couple was blessed with a son named Sreehari and a daughter named Gayathri.

Ajith Kollam died on 5th April 2018 in Kochi, Kerala, India. He was suffering stomach ailments and passed away at 3:40 am and was 56 years of age, according to media reports.
