The flood situation in Kerala state has gone from bad to worse as the number of death in the devastating floods nearing 400. With the Meteorological department predicting very heavy rains across the state till August 18, a red alert has been sounded in 14 districts and more than 1.5 lakh people have been lodged in relief camps across the state. The lack of power supply in some places has rendered those stranded without a means to connect with their family members and friends. The floods have also left people without homes and basic supplies.

For Kerala Flood Relief, India’s e-commerce payment system Paytm has decided to reach out to its community & extend a helping hand by inviting contributions from their customers.
According to Paytm CEO, all the money we donate will be doubled by adding the company’s fund to donate the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. According to a blog post by the company, Paytm will match the donations made by its users. “Every contribution you make Paytm will match it Rupee for Rupee. For instance, if you contribute Rs 100, we will add Rs 100 from our side to the contribution. And we will make sure it reaches the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund,” it said in the blog.
