Kannan Details

Kannan was born and brought up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He completed a musical degree and started his career as a guitarist in 1988. Over the decades, he composed a short song for about 600 commercial advertisements. The director C.C. Amudhan spotted him and gave an opportunity to compose the music for his film score debut Thamizh Padam (2010).

The songs received positive reviews from critics who called it an “amusingly memorable debut for Kannan.” The songs “Pacha Manja” and “O Maha Zeeya” were well received. The music director has received more recognition for his contributions to his debut film than to previous films which went mostly unnoticed. He then worked on movies like Chaplin Saamandhi, Mayanginen Thayanginen, Pongadi Neengalum Unga Kaadhalum, Ponge Ezhu Manohara, and More. Currently, he is composing the soundtrack for the upcoming parody film Thamizh Padam 2.0.
