Kani Kusruti is an Indian actress and model, who predominantly appears in Malayalam film industry. She made her debut movie in Malayalam titled Anyar in the year 2003. She also appeared in Malayalam and Tamil movies, with that she also featured in an English movie titled Silent Dark Eyes which is a short film. Kani Kusruti Details

Kani Kusruti was born on 12 September 1985, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Kani Kusruti family is now residing in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and her father name is Maithrayen and her mother name is Jayasree who were the social activist and rationalist. Her schooling details will be updated soon and she did her graduation in L’École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq, Paris, France. She was brought up in Thiruvananthapuram, where she was introduced to the Abhinaya Theatre Research Centre, which is a common platform for theatre practitioners, after that, she moved to Thrissur and got enrolled in the theatre arts program at the Thrissur Drama School, between 2005 and 2007. Kani Kusruti is now living in Mumbai along with her husband Anand Gandhi who is a filmmaker and science communicator. Moreover, she identifies herself as an atheist and a rationalist.

Kani Kusruti stated her acting career in the year 2003, from the movie Anyar. She made her debut theatre movie Bhagavadajjukam which is the Baudhayana’s classic farce. Then she appeared in a lead role in the theatre play titled Vasantsena from 2000 to 2006. Then she appeared in various theatre festivals that includes Bharat Rang Mahotsav and the International Theatre Festival of Kerala. Once after she returns from her education she featured in an anthology film Kerala Cafe and in the segment “Island Express” which is directed by director Shankar Ramakrishnan. In the year 2010, she appeared in as Naxalite in the movie Mohanlal in this she starrer as Shikkar from this movie she was noticed by the mainstream audiences. She also appeared in various Tamil films and Short films like Pisaasu, Burma, Kalam, and Maa(Short film). Later she appeared in various feature films and Short films in the following years as well.
