Junga Tamil Movie 2018: Junga is an upcoming Indian Tamil neo-noir gangster comedy film starring Vijay Sethupathi, Sayyeshaa Saigal and Madonna Sebastian in the lead roles. The movie was written and directed by Gokul. The director of the movie, Gokul is well known for his work ‘Rowthiram’ and ‘Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara’. Gokul–Vijay Sethupathi combo has proved successful in the past. The film jointly produced by Arun Pandian, Dr. K. Ganesh, Vijay Sethupathi, R. M. Rajesh Kumar under the banner of Vijay Sethupathi Productions. The music for the film was composed by Siddharth Vipin. Cinematographer Dudley joined the team while V. J. Junga Movie Review

The audience had a lot of expectations from the Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara director Gokul in the movie Junga and the reality is he has left the audience disappointing. In the movie, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi carries the role of a don casually and at the same time travels in the funny track. Junga is a bus conductor and is in love Telugu girl Madonna Sebastian. Junga steps into violence when her crush is being harassed by the eve teasers. The scene is like a spoof of the past iconic films. Junga’s mother, Saranya Ponvannan is concerned about her son, whom she has kept protected all these years from the gangsters, is now following his ancestors’ path. She tells him the family’s past where his grandfather, Lingaa, and father, Ranga, were foolhardy dons, who have wasted their wealth, which was a movie hall named Cinema Paradise, which was gifted by her father as dowry. Junga decides to gain back all the wealth particularly the Cinema Paradise. To achieve that he decides to become a don, offering discounts, and save money. In the meantime, don Sopparaju (Radharavi) plans to demolish the movie hall to construct a shopping mall, and Junga is forced to confront Chettiar (Suresh Menon), who has the theater now is now by illegally acquiring from Junga’s family. To confront Chettair, Junga decides to kidnap Chettiar’s daughter, Yazhini (Sayyesha) who is in Paris. And to save cost he travels in economy class via eight connecting flights to keep cost low. But Yazhini gets kidnapped by the Italian drug mafia. And the rest is the climax.

The movie felt strong only with the Gokul’s script and Vijay Sethupathi’s performance. The director has referred to several current socio-political situations, like the Cauvery issue, and delivered in a casual and comical way to reach the audience. Yogi Babu, Junga’s assistant don, has delivered his best as always with his one-liners and timing. Siddharth Vipin‘s music is good for the movie and enjoyable.

On the whole, Junga is one time watchable with friends and family.
