She began her modeling career during her studies and performed in over 150 television advertisements before getting signed by director Bala for the lead female role in the Tamil feature film Avan Ivan. During her modelling career, she has done a cameo role in Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru (2009). Janani says, she would get reach of 10 films by participating in this controversial show Bigg Boss. Janani Iyer was born on 31 March 1987, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Bought up in Chennai and she studied at D.A.V School in Gopalapuram. She has s younger sister named Krithiga. Janani has completed engineering in computer science at Saveetha Engineering College. After her studies, she entered into modeling and appeared over 150 regional television advertisements. Then she appeared in a cameo role in Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru (2009) and Gautham Menon’s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (2010). In 2014, her Tamil Film Thegidi released with both critical and Box Office acclaim.
