IPS Himanshu Roy Shot Himself on his Head and Commits Suicide
Himanshu Roy, a senior police officer involved in many high-profile investigations, allegedly shot himself using his service revolver and committed suicide at his home in Mumbai on Friday afternoon. He was brought dead to hospital. A former chief of the Anti-Terror Squad of Maharashtra, Himanshu Roy was an Additional Director General of Police. He was reportedly on sick leave when he committed suicide.

According to reports, a 54-year-old was diagnosed with terminal cancer and had gone on long leave on medical since November 2017. His illness caused him severe depression.

Himanshu Roy was heading high profile cases like the 2013 Indian Premier League spot-fixing, the murder of Pallavi Purkayastha and the J Dey murder.
