With the WHO (World Health Organization) declaring Coronavirus as Pandemic, Indian Government has banned the entry of foreigners till April 15, 2020. As of March 12, 2020, nearly 129,296 people have been affected and 4,749 people lost their lives due to this deadly virus. To spread awareness, various awareness programs have been conducted across the world including India. One of the important program created by the Indian Government is that they have ordered all the telecom operators including Jio, Airtel, BSNL and Vodafone to set 30-second audio clip as a default caller tune for their subscribers.
Aimed at spreading awareness, the 30-second audio explains the important measures to avoid getting infected by Coronavirus. Once the audio gets connected, the call will be connected. However, some of the users annoyed with this move as the caller tune plays every time when they dial a number and creates an obstacle in case of emergencies. But, there are ways to stop the Coronavirus caller tune.
Basic protective measures to avoid Coronavirus from spreading:
- Wash your hands regularly with soap
- Use tissue paper while sneezing and coughing
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth without washing your hands
- Maintain 3 feet distance between yourself and the people who are coughing or sneezing
- Visit the nearby health centre if you have fever, cough or difficulty in breathing
Visit WHOs website to detailed guidelines about Coronavirus.
Method 1: How to Stop Coronavirus Caller Tune?
Step 1: Dial the desired number.
Step 2: Once the Coronavirus awareness started to play, open the dial on your device and press 1 or #.
Step 3: Press the button again if the audio hasn’t stopped.
Step 4: Coronavirus caller tune will be stopped and you will get the regular ring tone.
Method 2: How to Deactivate or Stop Coronavirus Caller Tune?
By following the below steps, the user who tries to call you will not receive the awareness alert while dialling your number. However, you will receive the alert message while you calling. Ask the user at the receiving end to do the same if you don’t want to hear the alert message while calling the respective number.
Step 1: On your device, open the dialer and call *646*224#.
Step 2: Press 1 and select Send to deactivate to stop the alert.
Step 3: That’s it. The alert will be stopped.
NOTE: The above mentioned steps worked on Airtel network and we aren’t sure about other networks.
