Happy International Men’s Day 2021: While the world celebrates International Women’s Day (8th March) with great glory and celebrations, International Men’s Day or Men’s Day, celebrated on November 19 passes off a little quietly. Hence we will bring you all the information that you need to know about International Men’s Day. International Men’s Day is celebrated annually on November 19 to celebrate the positive value that the men bring to their families, communities, and the world. It is also commemorated to raise awareness among the people about the men’s mental health and to address the problems related to men which affect their families and the rest of society.

International Men’s Day was created with the aim of creating a space for the men to talk about their mental strength or health. It also encourages them to be more embracing and open about their mental health issues. International Men’s Day was inaugurated by Thomas Oaster in February 1992. The celebration was resurrected in 1999 in the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago. Jerome Teelucksing, a doctor from Trinidad and Tobago has selected November 19 to celebrate International Men’s Day to honor the birthday of his father.

What do people do?

On International Men’s Day, people will honor the contributions, sacrifices, and progress made by men in society. Events will be conducted around the world with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of men’s health, gender equality, and the importance of men’s role in society, family, relationships, and childcare. International Men’s Day is also a perfect day to explore some of the issues like real-life options, hunger, poverty, homelessness, parental alienation, fatherlessness, mass incarceration, ethnic intolerance, and religious issues which prevent men and boys from living healthier, purpose-driven, and longer lives.
