Human Rights Day is commemorated on December 10 of every year all over the world. The day is to honor the United Nations General Assembly for declaring the human rights universally on 10th December 1948. This day is mainly celebrated by the people to get the real rights for human beings. It is also commemorated to improve the physical, social, cultural and spiritual well being and welfare of the vulnerable group of people all over the world.
History of Human Rights Day
In 1948, The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It was officially established in the meeting of UNGA on 4th of December in 1950. After the Assembly passed resolution 423(V) inviting all states members and interested governmental & non-governmental organizations to adopt 10 December of each year as Human Rights Day. From that day the major stride put forward is to ensure that the rights of every human across the globe are protected.
The basic needs of a human such as a shelter, water, and food must be access to free and uncensored pieces of information. The Human Right Day loud across the globe in spite of where we live, what we believe, every individual should deserve their basic needs. In South Africa, the Human Rights day was celebrated on 21 March, in memory of the Sharpeville Massacre.
