Gupteshwar Pandey is a 1987 batch IPS officer from Bihar cadre. He has been promoted as the 51st Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar on 31st January 2019. Gupteshwar Pandey is known for controlling riots as an SP of many districts in Bihar. He first cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 1985 and was allotted IRS (Income Tax). Once again in 1986 he cracked UPSC and was allotted IPS with home cadre Bihar.
