Gujarat Election Result 2017: The Gujarat Election is seen as a prestige battle for both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and newly-elected Congress president Rahul Gandhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems set to form the governments in Modi’s Home State Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh for the sixth time in the former and unseating the Congress in the latter.
Counting of votes began for the Gujarat election result 2017 and Himachal Pradesh election result 2017 at 8 am sharp. As per trends, the BJP had taken an early lead in 107 seats in Gujarat, while the Congress was caught up in 71 and is giving a challenge to the BJP.

For PM Modi, Gujarat being his native state makes it a must-win battle for the BJP, while for Congress President Rahul Gandhi face a loss and especially he spearheaded its campaign and strategy in the state.
For the last two decades, the BJP has been ruling in Gujarat and a win today will be significant for them ahead of the 2019 general elections. The BJP also has extended its lead over the Congress in Himachal Pradesh.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is now back in the lead against Congress leader Indranil Rajyaguru in Rajkot West, and so is Deputy CM Nitin Patel in Mehsana where the Jignesh Mewani factor in the field.
The result will decide the contest between the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.
