Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu was born on 13 October 1965 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His father Ghatamaneni Siva Rama Krishna is an actor and mother Indira Devi is a housewife. He has three younger sisters and one younger brother. His sisters are Padmavathi, Manjula Ghattamaneni and Priyadarshini. His brother, Mahesh Babu is a leading actor in Telugu Cinema. At the age of 12, Ramesh Babu ventured into films as a child actor with his father’s film Manushulu Chesina Dongalu. He acted in over 15 films before retiring from acting in 1997. In 2004, he established Krishna Productions Private Ltd, a film production company in Hyderabad. He produced films like Sooryavansham, Arjun and Athidhi. He then acted as a presenter for 2011 blockbuster film Dookudu.
