The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an All-India Examination, which is administered and conducted in eight zones over the country by the GATE Committee, including of Faculty members from IISc, Banglore and other seven IIT’s on behalf of the Department of Education, National Coordinating Board, Ministry of Human Resources Development. The GATE rank can be used for admissions to the Post Graduate Programmes such as ME, MS, M.Tech, Direct PhD in institutes like IITs and IISc etc. with the financial assistance offered by the MHRD. PSUs also use the GATE scores for recruiting the candidates for various jobs with attractive pay. GATE Exam primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. It is conducted jointly by Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technologies at Delhi, Roorkee, Kanpur, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Chennai and Bombay on behalf of the National Coordination Board-GATE.

What is the use of GATE Exams?

GATE 2019 is considered as the standard exam, which is conducted not only for the Post Graduation admission but also to open the gates for lucrative opportunities in several public sector enterprises and even in research organisations. Based on the GATE score, admissions are offered in IITs, NITs and IISc and a lot of opportunities for campus placements with the salary packages ranging from Rs. 6 Lakhs to 30 Lakhs. Candidates who qualified GATE can also get the financial aid of Rs. 8000/- per month in the form of UGC Scholarship. Students who are interested in the management can get in the management line by pursuing a PG Diploma of 2years in the Industrial Engineering. GATE Exam Details

GATE Exam is the national level exam for qualifying the exam for admissions to post-graduate programs (e.g., M.E., M.Tech, direct PhD) in Indian institutes of higher education with the financial assistance, which is provided by the MHRD and other government agencies.
