Freida Pinto is an Indian movie actress, who predominantly works in the American and British film industry. She made her debut movie Slumdog Millionaire she appeared as Latika directed by Danny Boyle in 2008. Freida Pinto Early Life and Career

Freida Pinto was born on 18 October 1984 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Freida Pinto family is now residing in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her father name is Frederick Pinto who was a  senior branch manager for the Bank of Baroda and her mother name is Sylvia Pinto who was the principal of St. John’s Universal School in Goregaon, Mumbai. Then she has an elder sister named Sharon who works on NDTV. She did her schooling in Carmel of St. Joseph School in Malad, Mumbai and she did her graduation in English literature at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. During her college days, she used to participate in amateur theatre but she declined acting and modelling assignments until her graduation in 2005. As she is much interested in acting she decided to join a modelling company Elite Model Management India, where she worked for two and a half years.

Later she also featured in various TV and print advertisements for the products like Wrigley’s Chewing Gum, Škoda, Vodafone India, Airtel, Visa, eBay, and De Beers. In the meantime, she used to attend some auditions for feature films as well as for the television shows. She got selected as a host for Full Circle which is an international travel show gets aired on Zee International Asia Pacific between 2006 and 2008. Then Freida made her auditions for the both Bollywood and Hollywood productions that include the role of Bond girl Camille Montes in Marc Forster’s Quantum of Solace in 2008. Once before she entered into the film industry she got engaged with Rohan Antao and her relationship ended in January 2009 and she dated Slumdog Millionaire co-star Dev Patel after six years they got separated in December 2014.

In the year 2007, she was selected with six other models for them to audition for the female lead for the movie Slumdog Millionaire by Danny Boyle. After the six months of auditions, she won the role of Latika and at the time of post-production, she joined in an acting course at the Barry John Acting Studio in Mumbai. Then for this movie, she received a great acclaim from the people Then it was a successful movie in the 81st Academy Awards and the movie was nominated for 10 awards in that it grabbed eight that includes for Best Picture. She also grabbed more awards for her performance in the movie. On October 2010 Freida Pinto and Rula Jebreal attended the screening of Miral at the 18th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival. Just by following the success of Slumdog Millionaire she signed for two more movies In Woody Allen’s comedy-drama You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and then in the following years she featured in various movies and received huge acclaim among the people for her performance.

Apart from acting, she involved in more philanthropic activities like humanitarian causes and is vocal about the uplifting of women and underprivileged children. In the year 20120, she joined in the Agassi Foundation with Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf in support of their philanthropic organisation. After two years she appointed as a global ambassador of Plan International’s Because I am a Girl which is the campaign that promotes gender equality. On February 2016, she announced that she is going to be a part of a nonprofit organisation called “We Do It Together“, by providing finance for feature films, documentaries, and television shows that focus on women’s empowerment.
