FIFA World Cup 2018: Sony Extends Live Broadcast to Six Languages
With less than 5 days to go to the FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia, the official broadcaster of FIFA World Cup in India, Sony Pictures Networks has increased their regional outreach with the addition of Telugu and Tamil live language feeds. It will be added to the already announced Hindi, English, Bengali, and Malayalam live feeds. It will be the first time that the FIFA World Cup will be telecasted in regional languages in India.

Rajesh Kaul, President of Sony Pictures Networks India, has said: “The telecast of FIFA World Cup 2018 will be done in 6 languages. It is our effort to reach out to every football fan in the country as per our promise to go beyond to serve best sporting action through our programming initiatives.”
The English broadcast will be available on Sony Ten 2 (both HD and SD), and Hindi broadcast will be available on Sony Ten 3 (both HD and SD). The regional viewers will be required to tune into Sony ESPN. Sony Pictures Network India in January 2014 had acquired the FIFA Media Rights for five years at $100 million.
