Traffic jams in Chennai Corporation are one of the most important issues. Vehicles that are parked on the roads are the main cause of traffic congestion. So, the officials are planned to bring the digital parking system in the city.
The system will be set up along the main roads and in the suburbs of the city. According to report, Purasawalkam will get 385 parking slots along roads including Purasawalkam High Road. T.Nagar will get 2,200 parking slots and Anna Nagar will get 1,673 parking slots. All the vehicles in these slots will be monitored in real time for the parking management system.
To use this service, people should download GCC SMART Parking App and register with bank details. Then the user will find out the free space to leave the vehicle. The user can park the vehicle at any given time and can take out whenever they wish. For this service, a fee of four-wheelers is set at Rs 20 for an hour and 5 rupees for a two-wheeler.
