Desiya Thalaivar is an upcoming Tamil movie based on the life of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar. The biopic was directed by Aravinthraj of Oomai Vizhigal and Uzhavar Magan fame. JM Basheer portrays the role of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar in this film. Muthuramalinga Thevar is a leader who contributed to national politics by working with Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. The film was bankrolled by AM Choudary.
Vijai Kaartik aka JM Bashir is an ardent follower of Thevar. He has undergone a fast to play the role. The film will be based on the book written by AR Perumal Thevar.
