Darshana KT is an Indian playback singer who is currently working in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi Cinema Industry. She’s a dedicated and hardworking woman, considers herself as a workaholic. She started her singing classes at the age of 5. Darshana KT started her singing career along with the music director GV Prakash Kumar as a harmony singer. Later, she got an opportunity from Rahman’s studio. Darshana KT was born on 6 November 1984 in Chennai, India. She’s currently residing in Chicago, but she travels back and forth to India for her work. She schooled in Kuwait, Gulf. Later she came back to Chennai for further studies. Darshana did her graduation and Journalism and Media from M.O.P. Vaishnav College, Chennai. Also, she completed a masters degree in Media Presentation/Production at Loyola College in Chennai. During this period she got the opportunity to work as an intern in The Hindu. She assisted for Gauthami Tadimalla for a year.

Her collaboration with Oscar Winner A. R. Rahman started way back in 2007 with Rajinikanth-starrer Sivaji. She sang the opening lines of the hit number Balleilakka Balleilakka from the film. Her other A R Rahman songs include “Pappu can’t dance saala” and “Nazrein milaana” from Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Naa, “Chinamma” from Sakkarakatti.

She has won several Awards during her career. She was nominated for the 55th Filmfare awards for her debut song “Maduraikki Pogathadi” for the film Azhagiya Thamizh Magan. Apart from being a playback singer, she is also an independent songwriter/composer.
