44th Chess Olympiad 2022: Final Results | Winner | Highlights
Chennai Chess Olympiad 2022: The world’s largest team chess championship is on the verge of completion with a closing ceremony. The host country India has outplayed games against the competitors and secured the top ranks in both the Open and Women categories. There was a devastating moment for the Indian B team in Round 10 after the young prodigy Gukesh lost to Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Abdusattorov (World Rapid Chess Champion). On the other hand, Praggnanandhaa triumphed the victory on his board, while Nihal Sarin and Adhiban made a draw. In the end, India B team made a draw against Uzbekistan and moved to third position. Armenia beat Azerbaijan and floated to the second spot. The Indian A team riding towards the top position by beating Iran.

While Indian Women’s Team has penultimate to the top seed after giving just a half point to Kazakasthan. Humpy, Kulkarni, and Tania are outplayed in the final matches of the tournaments. From this Indian Women Team at the first position, while Poland made a draw against Georgia and tabled to the second spot. Azerbaijan marks its third position after the clean sweep against Armenia.

After the victory against Netherland, Uzbekistan became the winner of the 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 tournament, While silver and bronze are taken by Armenia and Indian B team respectively. In the women’s category, the Indian team lost to the USA in the final round and missed the top seed in a hard battle. Moreover moved to third place.
