Bhumi Pednekar is an Indian actress and assistant casting director. She did her film debut in Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Her performance in the movie won the heart of many viewers and also won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Initially, she worked as an assistant casting director for several years with Shanoo Sharma of Yash Raj Films. In 2018, Bhumi did a prominent role in Manmarziyan. Bhumi’s character as Gauri in the Govinda Naam Mera became a sensation. A picture of her in a sparkling silver outfight became viral and it received more than 2 lakh likes in 48 hours.
After her debut victory, she signed a two-film deal with the company as an actress and rose to prominence as a headstrong woman in the comedy-dramas Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Savdhan both of the films reached major commercial successes.
