SS Rajamouli’s classic Bahubali 2: The Conclusion theatrical screenings have started all over the world, including in the US, where paid openings are being held. But in Tamilnadu, the film has been stopped to release. The reason for a delay of Baahubali 2, Arka Media who was the producer and have not issued the necessary KDM licenses to theaters in the state as the local publisher — K Productions’ Raja Rajan — has defaulted on his final settlement.
Film Released all over Tamilnadu at 11 AM
Shows confirmed for 11 am in the Tamilnadu. In Chennai suburbias of Tambaram, Poonamalee Sundar and Porur GK had been canceled. Huge crowds which had assembled early in the morning to catch the first screenings of Baahubali 2, had to go back depressed. First show ticket was being sold up to Rs 500, to take pleasure of the FDFS rage.
Meantime, the Tamil Nadu distributor of the film Raja Rajan is in Hyderabad, trying to distribute the issue out. As per trade sources, he is waiting for banks to start their business day, after which he hopes to get some funds from his overseas partners and resolve the issue. Rajan had originally also got the foreign rights of Baahubali 2 The Conclusion.
In Tamil Nadu, however, there is a seething rage among fans and theater owners. It is not the first time a big film release has run into trouble, but Rajan’s approach of the condition has caused a huge loss to the contract. The collections of first-day shows are going to be decreased as a large number of premier shows getting canceled.
