Ashwathi Pillai Details

Ashwathi Pillai was born in India and remained in Bangalore until she completed her 4th Grade. She studied at National Public School, Bangalore. She then moved to Sweden along with her parents. During her stay in India, She used to visit HSR Badminton club in Bangalore along with her father on weekends. Her father used to play badminton for 1 or 2 hours and give her the opportunity to play. This made her get interested towards this sport.

Ashwathi is the youngest player to qualify for Swedish elite (Senior) tournaments. Ashwathi won Swedish U15 National Champion in the year 2015. Whenever she visits India, She used to get trained at “Prakash Padukone Academy” which was considered as one of prestigious coaching centre in India.

• Gold Medalist @ 2013 Swedish National Championship (SM) U13 in WS.
• Gold medalist @ 2014 Swedish National Championship (SM) U15 in WS
• Youngest player to qualify for the Swedish Elite competition and compete against the top elite players.
• Gold medalist @ the Glasgow International open in women singles U15 category
• Gold medalist @ GotElit 2014 in women singles in U17
• Gold medalist @ Elit/U19 Uppsala 2014 in Women singles
• Ranked No. 1 in women singles U15 and 16th in women elite singles.
