Arya Rajendran is the youngest politician who serves as the mayor of Thiruvananthapuram. She was born and brought up in Mudavanmukal, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Arya is the daughter of Rajendran (Electrician) and Sreelatha (LIC agent).
In December 2020, a 21-year-old won as councillor from Mudavanmukal ward of Thiruvananthapuram corporation at the 2020 Kerala local body elections.
To be noted, her parents are strong supporters of the CPI(M) for many years. Following in her parents footsteps, Arya started her political career during her college as a member of Student Federation of India (SFI). According to reports, she is the youngest mayor in india.
