Arvind Gupta Wiki

Arvind Gupta is an Indian toy inventor and expert in science. He received the civilian award “Padma Shree” on the Republic Day, 2018. He works for the people who live in the tribal district of Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh. There he developed many useful low-cost teaching & science teaching aids, with the locally available materials. Arvind Gupta Early Life and Career

Arvind Gupta was born in India. His family and schooling details will be updated soon. He finished his graduation in IIT Kanpur and he took a year’s study leave from TELCO to work for the grassroots village science teaching programme for the children who reside in the tribal district of Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh. In those villages, he developed some of the useful low-cost teaching/science teaching aids with the help of locally available materials. Arvind Gupta teaches about the possibilities of using ordinary things for creating the science and recycling modern junk into joyful products, especially for children.

Arvind Gupta wrote his first book titled “Matchstick Models and other Science Experiments,” and that book was translated into 12 different languages by various Popular Science groups. He has also conducted workshops over 2000 schools, and he has won many national and international awards. In the year 1978, he has participated in the Hoshangabad Science Teaching Programme which was held at Madhya Pradesh. In that programme, Arvind Gupta gave some ideas for developing simple toys and educational experiments by using the locally available materials and the items usually thrown as trash. He found that all these simple toys make the children fascinated and planned to make it as the hallmark of his works to popularising science. He has also written many books about his idea and uploaded many short clips on YouTube in different languages.
