Alia Bhatt was born on 15 March 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She completed her schooling at the Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai. Her made her acting debut as a child artist in Sangharsh, which was released in 1999. She played the role of young Priety Zinta’s character in the film.
