Ala Movie Trailer Review | A ZEE5 Telugu Original Movie about Love, Dreams and Suffering

Streaming giant ZEE5‘s latest release Ala is a Telugu movie based on Love, Dreams, and Suffering. The movie stars Bhargav, Shilpika, Malavika, Deepti and Ankith in the lead roles. The ZEE5 movie has been written and directed by debutant Sarat Palanki.

Music Director Srinivasa Sarma Rani composed the songs for the movie. The movie was produced by Palanki Sarat Chandra under the banner of Soujanya Productions. Sarat Palanki himself cranked the camera for the movie. Ala was released on ZEE5 on June 25, 2019.

Going through the teaser, it seems Ala movie is a nostalgic ride that focusses on college friendship and romance. The story revolves around Suri, who instigates his friend, Snehith, to propose to a girl. When the girl rejects Snehith, he commits suicide. After this shocking incident, Suri goes into depression, blaming himself for his friend Snehith’s death. Whether he reveals the truth to anyone or suffers in silence forms the rest of the story.

Bhargav Kommera as Suri is the life and soul of the teaser. This is the guy you desperately want to see on-screen. Shilpika, Malavika, Deepti and Ankith provide able support. The desperation in Suri’s eyes and his frustration with his circumstances are very real. 

From the very first scene, the level of intrigue and emotional hold is maintained. The teaser begins as a slice of life story as we see the characters interact with each other and looking happy. It slowly progresses into a love story zone which was beautiful to look at. But then, towards the end, the teaser took a dramatic turn showing the characters in pain and suffering. This cocktail of emotions does not feel forced and rather makes you intrigued about the movie.

Before the movie released, the song Kougillalo composed by Srinivasa Sarma Rani and penned by Sivakrishna received a good response. The song was released by renowned singer Vijay Yesudas. The video has raked in more than 250k views since it was posted. The song also received overwhelming comments like how heart-touching the lyrics and vocals of the video are. Youngsters start uploading as Whatsapp status and Instagram posts as a result. The song ‘Kougillalo’ was crooned by Chinmayi and another song ‘Avuna Nena’ by Karthik was received good response too.

Verdict: A different attempt made in trying to showcase the relationship between friends. May work well with young audiences.
