After Blue Whale, New Suicide Game Momo WhatsApp Challenge Spreads Panic
Momo Suicide Challenge: After the deadly Blue Whale challenge that reportedly consumed lives of more than 100 children, the Momo WhatsApp ‘suicide game’ has become a cause of concern for authorities in some parts of Latin America. According to a report, the Suicide Game is feared to be linked to the death of a 12-year-old girl in Argentina. According to BBC, Momo has now been reported in Mexico, Argentina, United States, France and Germany.
What is Momo WhatsApp Challenge?
According to the Computer Crime Investigation Unit in the Mexican state of Tabasco, the suicide challenge game started on Facebook and Reddit. And now it is being spread via Whatsapp. Several users are reported as saying that Momo responded with violent images and players are threatened if they refuse to follow the game’s “orders”.
The challenge has been linked with a bizarre and disturbing image of a girl’s face, which seems to be distorted. This image of the girl is a creation of Japanese artist Midori Hayashi, who is not associated with the game in any way.

People are made to contact with random strangers, who apparently forward them the link and instructions of the game, which eventually lead to suicide, just like the deadly game Blue Whale Challenge. The game controller claims to know personal information about the player and threatens them if they don’t follow orders.
The local Police and Cybercrime authorities have been warning parents about the challenge and issuing advisories to parents to protect their children from this deadly challenge.
