A Honest Review Of The Bollywood Movie Gulabo Sitabo

The craze for movies has increased a lot in recent times. Movies are watched by audiences all over the world and by all ages of people. Why do we watch movies? There will be a lot of reasons for this question. First of all, with the loads and pressures increasing on the mind, we are in a great need of relaxation. And movies are one of the best ways to suit and be relaxed while enjoying some popcorn and coke!

Then these movies are a great source of inspiration for many. There are various movies that bring out the hidden true stories of inspiring people and many people are inspired by these. Movies bring out the stories of some long-forgotten heroes of our countries and prior come to know about their heroics. Overall, movies provide a whole lot of various features that can’t be ignored.

Based on the large amount of audience distributed all across the world, countries have moved forward to create their own identity through their own movie producing companies. For example, USA has Hollywood, India has Bollywood, Tollywood etc. And different movie production companies have their own stories and cast to offer.

Bollywood is one of the biggest movie production companies of the world hailing from India. Bollywood has given the world a lot of mind gobbling movies and has kept producing the same frequently. One of such movies is Gulabo Sitabo. Here is a review of the film if you are planning to watch it –

COMPLETE SYNOPSIS AND REVIEW

GulaboSitabo is a Bollywood movie which was released on 15^th June 2020 on Amazon Prime Video because of the current ongoing pandemic. It is a comedy and drama film directed by the well knownShoojitSircar, produced by Sheel Kumar and Ronnie Lahiri and penned down by Juhi Chaturvedi. It has been named as one of the best films of the year 2020 on the basis of the story and the acting of the cast.

Along with positive, the movie has gathered some negative reviews from the critics and the audience. Gulabo Sitabo film stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead roles and has some good supporting cast too!

The story is located in the city of Lucknow and completely revolves around one thing – an old mansion! Coming to the story, Amitabh Bachchan takes up the role of a stingy old man named Mirza who is known in the neighbour as a greedy miser. His wife, who is ten years older than him, is the owner of a large but old mansion named Fatima Mahal which Mirza plans to acquire.

The mansion houses a lot of tenants who are irregular in paying the tents and are hated by Mirza. So he plans to take on the mansion after his wife dies and then throw out all the tenants.

Then enters Baankey who is a poor guy and lives in Fatima Mahal with his mother and the sisters. He is charged less rent as compared to others but still fails to pay the rent. And in the story, Mirza and Baankey are sworn enemies.

Until this part, the story may seem somewhat slow and boring. And added are the cinematic graphics which set the movie in a very old time. But I’ll be honest. It is true that the start may seem a bit hectic but if you can understand well, then you can surpass it easily. Just of the start and the rest of the movie is a great masterpiece. With a great blend of comedy and drama in the middle, the whole story is a treat.

Coming to the second part, you will witness a whole lot of efforts from Mirza to destroy Baankey and then the avenge of Baankey! This duel adds a great hint of humour to the story. You will witness Baankey teaming up with a local archeologist to make Fatima Mahal a government property. In return, Mirza hires a lawyer to defend himself. Mirza tries a lot to take on the mansion by forging the fingerprints of his wife on the legal papers and then agrees to sell the mansion to a developer for a huge lump of money.

Baankey and the other tenants come in opposition when they find that the promise of the archeologist to provide them accommodation is false. And at the same moment Mirza arrives with the lawyer and the developer for finalising the deal. This scene is a complete humour scene where you will be forced to laugh your head off!

But, the climax is better! Soon the group of people come to know that Fatima was no more ( while she was alive!) And Mirza, being the happiest, tries to own the mansion to find out the will of Fatima where she named the whole mansion on her lover! Mirza is left stranded and the group dismisses as they get to know that nothing is left in their own hands!

FINAL VERDICT

The film GulaboSitabo is a treat for the humour lovers and will not disappoint you at any cost. The blend of comedy with drama with the dialogues and the awesome acting of Amit Ji, Ayushmann and the other cast makes the movie a treat to see. The movie is produced by Shoojit Sircar who earlier gave us movies like October and Piku. Moreover being surrounded by big casts like The Amitabh Bachan and Ayushmaan Khurana, GulaboSitabo adds on to the list of the list of underrated bollywood movies.

But going on the reviews of the critics, GulaboSitabo failed to match the excellence that Piku offered but delivered something similar to October. I’ll personally advise you to watch the film at least once and then decide! I bet you will not be disappointed! Adios!
