India’s upcoming President is likely to be a dyed-in-the-wool BJP leader, conflicting to speculation that the ruling party might field some political candidate or a technocrat. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is yet to deliberate his preference with party leaders, but ruling party stated that the leadership is not inclined to reiteration the 2002 experiment when it had to fielded an outsider, APJ Abdul Kalam.
